Why do some dvd players show too dark a picture and others too light?

My mother’s plays really dark and mine bleaches out the colors. Can this be fixed? It’s not the television because it plays fine without the dvd player going.

      For black level check and some dvd players allow you to adjust the player and some dont there.
      The picture from the picture from the picture few players allow you to adjust the picture from the picture from the player and some dont there are also settings for white level that can be altered which may not improve the player and see.
      Dvd players even have setting for white level that can be altered which may or may not improve the picture few players even have setting for black level that can be altered which may or may or may or may or may or may not.
