What is the difference between a normal dvd and a blue ray disc dvd?

Hi everyone, I was watching tv and a commercial for Twilight on dvd was shown. At the end of the ad it said ‘Available on dvd and blue ray disc now’

All I want to know is what is the difference between a normal dvd and a blue ray dvd disc??? thanks for answering!

      Short version: High definition video needs lots of storage space. Regular DVDs are not enough room.

      Blue-ray discs are high definition and unlike DVDs, a blue-ray disc cannot be scratched. ;) Quite nifty.
