Need help with ripping a DvD and getting the movie onto movie maker please?

Hi im getting really angry at the endless hours of trying to work 3 seperate things and im wondering if ANYONE can help me please. I need a free dvd ripper that will allow my ripped dvd to play on windows media player. Then i need it to be transferred to movie maker. Im currently using DvD shrink, it has ripped the dvd but sadly it wont work on media player. Ive managed to get it playing on VLC media player but then it wont work on movie maker. If anyone can recomend some stuff to download ill be very very grateful. Please help me thanks bye.

Well lets just say ITS ILLEGAL i know its stupid but thats how it is if i told you of any software i could be arrested…search the web.
