DVD Cca Authorizes Copy Protection for Dvds

February 28, 2008 By: admin Category: dvd burning No Comments →

Kristin Gabriel asked:

Recent news released on September 19, 2007 by the DVD Copy Control Association (DVDCCA) now allows consumers to legally record content in their own homes including movies offered by the content owners. They can also obtain special content that is now unavailable on DVDs, since the existing demand does not economically allow the mass reproduction. The DVD Copy Control Association (DVDCCA), gave the final approval of a copy-protection specification for on-demand disc burning.

Final approval of the copy-protection specification, which is called Content Scramble System (CSS), was authorized by DVD CCA members. The DVD CCA is an industry copy protection organization who has authorized companies to sell digital downloads for on demand viewing.

The ruling also allows consumers to download the content and burn it to a physical DVD — a move that could dramatically change the way movies are sold. This way, movies bought over the Internet can now be burned onto a DVD that can play on any machine, anytime, anywhere.

Known as the Content Scramble System (CSS), a copy protection used on most commercially produced DVD, vendors can now create protected DVDs in custom runs at new on-demand factories or on store-based kiosks.

There are companies now offering On Demand Production enabling customers to create, publish and deliver custom content for DVD and CD distribution worldwide.

said President and Chief Executive Officer Raj Barman of Acutrack, Inc. said, “Interestingly, nobody thought about the fact that some day there would be something called the Internet where people could download content back when DVDs were invented twenty years ago.”.

The problem is that consumers still need a fast Internet connection, a DVD burner and DVD discs, plus they would have to hand write the title onto the disk.

On Demand engines are able to download content from a distributor’s site and produce a physical DVD with a professional retail printing, then package and mail it as soon as the consumer requests a physical DVD. This gives customers the ability to produce and ship custom packaged CDs or DVDs one at a time. Ideal for customer’s who are selling downloadable content, On Demand Production allows manufacturing of CDs and DVDs on an as needed basis, eliminating the up-front costs of producing multiple titles normally associated with CD/DVD production.

Standard DVD players are hardwired with the keys to unlock the digital security system built into pre-recorded DVDs, but DVD burners on computers and writeable DVD discs don’t contain the locks.

CSS was devised for this purpose to make copyright infringement difficult. The process will use special blank DVD discs with CSS encryption. The copies will be compatible with DVD players in homes and businesses today.

Rresponsible for making sure that all parties have agreed, the DVD CCA’s standards allowed the digital locks to be included in a downloaded movie file and then transferred to a protected DVD to work on current players.

Take Advantage of Powerpoint and DVD in School Activities

February 26, 2008 By: admin Category: dvd burning No Comments →

Wondershare asked:

When the new term begins, we often tend to get some new ideas on how to make our school activities such as academic activity or administrative activity go better and better. Here I am going to tell you something which can improve your school activities like training, teaching, conference, speech, school ceremony, etc with PowerPoint and DVD player.

Love it or not, Microsoft PowerPoint is widely accepted and used, epically in school. We all know that PowerPoint can only be played on computer with MS PowerPoint installed. But things have been changed all the time, PowerPoint is such a wonderful presentation tool, we are always expecting more. For example, when we made some excellent slides, we often want to share or enjoy the information that contains in the slides with others, and sometimes, we must tell someone something, like training, speech…school requires more. But if you are skilled in PowerPoint, you know it’s often not very convenient to show your PowerPoint Presentations, there must be a computer with MS software installed.

We want to find an easy and convenient way to Bridging the gap between the presenters and the viewers!

Ok, then why not play your PowerPoint presentations on TV with DVD player, the cheapest DVD player costs only $20, maybe less than that!

First, let’s have a discussion on what we will benefit if we play PowerPoint presentations with DVD player.

DVD player is cheap, but it’s not that easy, I am sure you care more about how to show your presentation in an efficient and effective way! We can take some examples to make this clear.

Training:

At the beginning of each term, school administration department need to arrange training for new teachers, sometimes including old staffs, it’s wonderful to show training courses with PPT, but often need to prepare too many things. How about DVD presentation, you only need a DVD player which cost $20, then you can held your training anywhere with a TV, of course, there are almost one TV in each class room, and more than one set in the hall. Another reason is that school often different from other organizations, maybe the whole training need no instructor, school only want to show PowerPoint to teachers and let they learn themselves, Play PowerPoint presentations on TV with DVD player will be the best choice, school can also burn PowerPoint presentations about the training to DVD and give the DVD Disc directly to teachers, so they can learn at home!

Advertisement:

Does School need AD? Are you kidding? The answer is yes! Every school want to be more famous, set up a good reputation both in parents and society! They also need to publicize their newest policies so that more students will enroll, and positively apply for expenditure from the government. So AD is important to school, at the beginning of each term, it’s very important to make a Presentation about school, with pictures and audio insert, then present to places (such as spot for enrolling) which will let parents of the students who often come to school at this time know something about the school. It is wisdom to burn your PowerPoint presentations to DVD disco and play on TV which we call it DVD Presentation! The school can do the same thing when any other organizations or individuals come to have a visit, besides, they also can take their DVD presentations to other school or use in any other activities(such as School Ceremony)! The most advantage of the DVD presentation is that the presentation can play itself and very convenient for delivering. In my opinion, each school should make a completely DVD presentation disc just like each school have a website. In a word, improve the quality of AD to make school famous with lowest cost!

Teaching and Academic activity:

It’s a fact that more and more teachers are tending to use PowerPoint in the class to make their courses more attractive, the same thing happened in Academic activities. As a teacher, are you tried of open the computer and click the PowerPoint Program to show your presentation once and once again, why not sit down with your students and watch your excellent PowerPoint slides on TV, just like watch Spider Man or Harry Potter, you can also explain your slides while it’s playing with no need to click your computer, everything is your hand with a DVD remote controller! During Academic activities like Speech, Proseminar, we have the same application! Maybe more than that, that’s your problem, I am sure you have more imaginations.

Here I only list a few of the applications in school, there are more than that, and you’d better try yourself! Now I’m going introduce the tool which will help you burn your PowerPoint to DVD/Mini DVD.

A $99.95 product called Wondershare DVD Presenter enables you to burn PowerPoint presentation to DVD/Mini DVD, or save it as DVD quality video formats (MPEG). You won’t get bothered with the 3-Click simplicity. With this tool, you can make a DVD copy for the PowerPoint slides with DVD menus, keeping the exact timings, transitions, sound and movies embedded, all in sync with the presentation.

It’s better for you to learn more about the product to have a better understand (http://www.sameshow.com/powerpoint-to-dvd.html)if you want to work in an efficient and effective way.

Hunter (Season 2) DVD Review

February 25, 2008 By: admin Category: dvd burning Comments Off

Britt Gillette asked:

Recipient of 3 Emmy nominations, Hunter is widely considered one of the premiere action/detective dramas of its time. Much like Tom Selleck’s Magnum, P.I., Fred Dryer’s Hunter had a knack for attracting a TV audience to his unique persona, an onscreen charisma that carried an otherwise so-so series through a nine-season run. Created by Frank Lupo, brains behind the smash hit The A-Team (1982) and writer for the hit series Battlestar Galactica (1978), Magnum, P.I. (1980), and Walker, Texas Ranger (1993), Hunter is constructed on the overused concept of a maverick police officer who breaks the rules, but never gets fired because he’s so good. Despite its formulaic approach, Hunter is pure entertainment for all those who love 1980s action dramas…

The Hunter (Season 2) DVD features a number of action-packed episodes including the season premiere “Case X” in which Dee Dee goes undercover as a prospective model when a modeling agent’s clients start turning up dead. When Hunter and Dee Dee discover that the modeling agent is sending his clients to a photographer who specializes in filming porn, the two get closer to discovering the true identity of the murderer… Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “The Big Fall” in which Hunter and Dee Dee must discover the identity of the murderer who killed the star witness under their protection or else risk being pinned with the rap themselves, and “Death Machine” in which Hunter and Dee Dee must investigate a series of underworld murders ordered by a jewel smuggler who was ripped off for over two million dollars by a pair of petty burglars…

Below is a list of episodes included on the Hunter (Season 2) DVD:

Episode 21 (Case X) Air Date: 09-21-1985

Burn Dvds Onto Cds, Without a DVD Burner: a Review of Dvdx Gold

February 21, 2008 By: admin Category: dvd burning No Comments →

Ethan Parker asked:

Imagine my surprise when I learned you could burn DVD movies and Playstation games, WITHOUT a DVD burner. Sound too good to be true? Sound like something really expensive?

Nope. It’s real, and quite affordable–as little as $19.95.

The product that helps you do this is one that’s become quite popular in its category: DVDx Gold. You may have heard of it; it’s known as the standard for burning DVDs without a CD burner. But is it really?

Well, compared to other products I’ve tried, I’d say yes. Not only is it a trustworthy product, but DVDx Gold, which you can learn more about right here, is quite affordable and very user-friendly. You don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars like some software products (do you hear me, Adobe Studio?), but you just pay based on how long you want to use it: one year, two years, or lifetime. I like the fact that they let you choose the price based on your usage, rather than paying loads for a product you may only need to use occasionally.

The Bad

Like all my reviews, I have to show the bad. In this case, there isn’t much except the fact that DVDx Gold will really slow down your computer when it’s in use. But that’s pretty normal; even the reliable CD-burning software, Nero, brings most computers to a standstill. This one isn’t quite as bad; it just requires a lot of RAM as burning DVDs to CDs is a complex operation.

Other than that, I recommend giving DVDx a whirl.

Try It, Or Buy It?

No doubt about it: if you’re someone who doesn’t have a DVD burner, and wants to burn DVDs without buying an expensive DVD burner, then buy DVDx Gold. If you’re not sure if it’s for you, you’ll only be out $20 for a year’s usage. Is that really so bad?

I don’t think so, and I think you’ll agree once you’ve used this fantastically original application.

Kathleen
